Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes Our policies and procedures on the collection, use, and disclosure of Your information when You use the Service, and informs You about Your privacy rights and how the law protects You.

By using the Service, You agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Interpretation and Definitions

Interpretation

The words with capitalized first letters have meanings defined below. The following definitions apply whether they appear in singular or plural form.

Definitions

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:

  • Application refers to the software program provided by the Company, Mosaic, installed on Your device.
  • Mosaic is an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) app. A caregiver, teacher, or therapist configures a board of tiles, and the person using the board taps a tile to have the word spoken aloud.
  • Company (referred to as either “the Company”, “We”, “Us”, or “Our”) refers to the developer of the Mosaic app.
  • Country refers to: Brazil
  • Device means any device that can access the Service, such as a smartphone or tablet.
  • Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
  • Service refers to the Application.
  • Service Provider means any person or company that processes data on behalf of the Company.
  • Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (e.g. device model, session length).
  • You means the individual using the Service, or the caregiver configuring a board on behalf of the person who uses it.

Collecting and Using Your Personal Data

Types of Data Collected

Board Content You Create

When configuring a board, You may provide:

  • A board photo — optionally, a photo of the person who will use the board.
  • Board profile metadata — a name, an age range, and a gender, used to tailor the board’s suggested vocabulary.
  • Tiles — the words, labels, images, and icons that make up the board.

All of this content is stored locally on Your device. We do not host or store Your boards, photos, or tiles on our own servers.

Usage Data

Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service. It may include:

  • Device type and OS version
  • App version
  • Anonymous usage patterns
  • Crash logs (if enabled)

We use Firebase Analytics to track anonymous usage and app interactions.
We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports that help us improve app stability.

AI Image Generation

Mosaic offers an optional feature that generates a personalized tile image using artificial intelligence so a tile can resemble the person who uses the board.

  • This feature is opt-in. It is only available after a caregiver explicitly grants AI consent for a board. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Revoking AI Consent below).
  • What is sent. When You generate an AI image, the board photo and the tile’s text are sent to Google’s Gemini API to produce the image. The generated image is returned to Your device and stored locally. We do not retain the photo or the generated image on our own servers.
  • Which API is used. Mosaic uses the Gemini Developer API through Firebase AI Logic. Under the Gemini Developer API terms, Google may use the content You submit (prompts, images, and responses) to provide and improve its services, including to train its models. Please review Google’s terms before using this feature:
  • If we ever change the underlying service (for example, to a tier that does not use submitted data for training), this page will be updated to reflect that.

You can disable AI image generation at any time by turning off the AI consent toggle in the board settings. Once disabled, no further content is sent to the Gemini API for that board.

Use of Your Data

We may use the data described above for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the Service, including building and speaking the boards You configure.
  • To generate AI tile images, only when You have opted in.
  • To improve performance, fix bugs, and monitor app usage.
  • To contact You if You reach out for support or feedback.

Retention of Your Data

  • We do not store Your boards, photos, profile metadata, or generated images on our servers.
  • All board content is stored locally on Your device.
  • Content submitted to the Gemini API is handled by Google according to its own terms (see AI Image Generation above).
  • Usage data (such as crash reports) may be retained anonymously to improve the app.

Transfer of Your Data

Your board content is stored locally on Your device. The only data that leaves Your device is the content You explicitly submit for AI image generation (sent to Google’s Gemini API), anonymous usage and crash data, and anything You choose to share yourself (e.g. exporting a board backup file).

Deleting Your Data

All board content is stored locally on Your device. You can delete it at any time within the app or by uninstalling the app.

If You have shared personal information with Us (e.g., via email), You may request deletion at any time by contacting:

📧 vansuita.dev@gmail.com

Security

We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect any data You share with Us. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Children’s Privacy

Mosaic is designed to be configured by adults (caregivers, teachers, therapists) on behalf of the person who uses the board. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children for our own use. Board content, including any photo, stays on the device except when submitted for AI image generation as described above, which requires explicit adult consent.

Third-Party Services

The Service uses third-party providers that have their own privacy policies:

We encourage You to review their policies to understand how data is handled.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page and reflected by the “Last updated” date.
